A Little Bit About Us
Valley View Boutique Cattery has been thoughtfully designed to be feline friendly for all breeds and personalities. Having animals ourselves means we have designed this Cattery to reflect everything we feel is essential in feline care.
Our accommodation facilities are thoughtfully designed to provide a relaxed, calm shelter at night and endless roaming possibilities by day on our sun kissed, enclosed, wooden verandah surrounded by wildlife and serenity.
Before They Arrive & During their stay
We recommend you put your cats carrier out for the week in your home before your cat comes to stay with us. Place a tee-shirt or an item that has your small/scent on it into the carrier. Each day put a treat in there, this will help to remove any anxiety your cat has over the carrier.
We have built the rooms in our cattery large enough to hold the carrier, litter tray, bedding with also another level for your cat to enjoy. We find placing your cat and carrier into the room once it arrives and letting them take their time to find confidence to come out and explore works perfectly. Sometimes removing your cat from the carrier on arrival just stresses them out.
Your cat will start to explore and if they're feeling insecure at any time, they can return to the safety of the carrier. Once your cat is confident I remove the carrier and put in another bed option. This has worked so well and the cats return home stress free and know that I move at their pace and won't put them in any stressful situation, it also bonds your cat and myself and has proven to make all our guests relaxed and happy cats.
Day 1-3 Consists of me bonding with your cat, I pat and feed and make them feel safe in our cattery. Some cats love to come outside into the garden, some love to watch and some sleep the day away, I go by whatever your cats lets me know it wants, if it does want to come out then I let it out with just myself into the garden, I will rotate the cats if a few want outside time, once settled I will let you cat out with one of my cats, they are use to all of our guests and are great at socialising cats,. All the cats get outside time and once we know personalities a few can be let out together.
We don't take any chances and never let a cat out until we are confident with it. Our process is slow but very successful. Your cat cannot escape from our cattery, it has been professionally built.
We do not do medication, the first few days of a cats stay especially for the first time can be anxious, trying to give a cat medication under these circumstances can be extremely difficult and time consuming. therefore we feel a cat should be staying at a vets where there are numerous workers to made sure medication is given on time.
Home Away From Home
We understand leaving your pet can be stressful, especially when you are planning a holiday or moving house.
At Valley View Boutique Cattery we pride ourselves on creating a stress free environment for your cat in order to ease the transition and enjoy their stay.
We have a wide variety of aromatic and soothing plants to help ease anxiety as well as freshly ventilated cages with a beautiful southerly sea-breeze in the afternoons.
