Our Garden & Our Food
Herb benefits for felines
Through years of studying feline health and experimenting with our herb garden, we've seen first hand the benefits of adding herbs to an environment with cats.
Cats have hyper sensitive scents and will pick up the many other cat smells there are inside a cattery. That's why we've packed our garden full of aromatic plants like lemon balm, mint and basil - easing your cats transition.
Here are some herbs and plants we offer at Valley View Boutique Cattery.
Lemongrass/lemon balm - Aids with Digestion, Anxiety + Anti-Parasitic
Mint - Therapeutic, aids metabolism and sweet smelling
Parsley - High in calcium and iron, Anti Fungal and Infection Fighting
Cat Nip - Eases Anxiety and Stress and filled with vitamins
Cat Grass - Full of B Vitamins and breaks down hairballs.
Basil - Natural Flee repellent and aromatic
What To Bring
At Valley View Cattery, it's not just about having your pet stay with us, it's about creating a friendship and bond with your animal so they feel they are in a safe and loving environment with trusted carers.
enjoy their stay.
1. your lovely cat/cats in a labelled carrier
2. your cats food in a clearly labelled container.
Labels keep us purr-featly organised with all our guests dietary requirements.
Nutrition and diet
We ask owners to bring their own pet food, We also ask for everything to be labelled and in plastic containers, this ensures your pets food in kept just for them and is kept fresh and available at all times. We like to use wet food in our cattery and just a bit of dry for in-between snacks, the better the food the better your cats health will be, it's the same as feeding our children and families.
What I Use For My Cats
Food can be really expensive and using the supermarket food just leads to urinary problems, teeth problems, a lot of problems as well as a cranky unhappy cat.
I buy chicken and slow cook in lots of water to also make a broth
Turkey mince, beef mince, chicken mince are all great
Raw and fresh are a great aussie company that deliver kangaroo, beef, chicken in small sachets or large bulk like i get and i freeze, once i'm ready to use i mix the base with raw meow another great aussie company, some vitamin broth from raw and fresh plus some di-vetelact vitamin milk replacer
the coats on my cats are amazing and they love it. It doesn't take long and you have a fantastic meal that last a lot longer than those little sachets.
